Ya llevamos un par de meses adentrándonos en el mundo de las piedras preciosas y de la joyería. Por eso, hoy hemos querido acercaros una parte de ese mundo que no se ve tan a menudo. ¿Cómo es el día a día de las empresas que nos hacen llegar estos exquisitos materiales? Hemos podido hablar con Marisol Zurita, experta en piedras preciosas y ámbar de Yantar Natura. Nos ha resuelto algunas dudas. Pregunta: ¿Cuáles son los materiales que más gustan entre vuestros clientes? ¿Qué piedras preciosas son las más demandadas? Respuesta: En general, los clientes nos solicitan tres tipos de materiales: el ámbar, las piedras preciosas y las perlas. El ámbar debido a su tonalidad, se solicita más en la temporada de otoño-invierno. También se solicitan muchos complementos de ámbar con plata. Esto pasa también con las piedras preciosas, sólo que, en general, se solicitan más durante la temporada de primavera/verano y, también dependiendo de los colores. Las que más gustan actualmente son el cuarzo rosa, el ónix, amatista, aventurina, jade… Por último, la perla nunca pasa de moda, porque proporciona elegancia para cualquier ocasión. Por ejemplo en bodas, comuniones, etcétera.

We have been going deep inside the world of precious stones and jewelry for a couple of months. That is why, today we want to make an approach to a part of this world that people do not see as usually as the others. How is the daily work in the companies that produce so exquisite products for us? We have had a chat with Marisol Zurita, an expert in precious stones and amber in Yantar Natura. She has resolved a few questions for us. Question: What are the materials that your clients like the most? What are the most puchased ones? Answer: In general terms, our clients mainly require three kinds of materials: amber, precious stones and pearls. Amber, due to its colour, is more required in fall/winter seasons. Besides, many amber-silver accesories are required. It happens the same with precious stones, but, these ones are more valued by the people during spring/summer seasons and, besides, depending on the colours. The ones that people like the most are rose quartz, onyx, amethyst, aventurine, jade... Finally, pearl is always a trend, provinding elegance for every event. P: ¿Cuál es el origen de estas piedras preciosas y materiales? R: En nuestro caso, el ámbar procede del Báltico, ya que es el mejor, tanto en calidad como en relación calidad-antigüedad. Las piedras preciosas las importamos desde Brasil, la India y la antigua Birmania, que tienen los mejores yacimientos. P: ¿Cómo podemos estar seguros, desde fuera, de la calidad de estas piedras? R: Esta calidad está certificada en laboratorio, asegurando además la autenticidad de las piezas, en un mundo donde cada vez se encuentran más intentos de engaño con falsificaciones sintéticas. Enciende las velas y dispon sobre el plato los pétalos de rosa y los caramelos o bombones. En el medio del plato, coloca el cuarzo rosa. Quema la varita de incienso. Cierra los ojos e imagina a Venus alejando de la habitación todo lo negativo que pueda haber en ella. Pon las manos con las palmas abiertas sobre el plato con el cuarzo y los pétalos e imagina el amor, la calidez y el atractivo entrando en ti a través de ellas. Pronuncia tres veces la siguiente frase: “Piedra mágica, atrae hacia mí el amor que por derecho me corresponde. Junta las dos velas y come los bombones o caramelos antes de que se apaguen las velas. El conjuro está hecho. Y no olvides que puedes llevar al cuarzo rosa que has utilizado como amuleto, para atraer el amor y las buenas vibraciones allí donde vayas.

Instructions: Make sure Venus statue/picture is there to watch over you. Close your eyes and imagine Venus forcing anything negative out of the room. Light the candles and place the petals in a dish with the chocolates/sweets. Put the rose quartz in the middle of the dish. Burn the incense stick. El collar de María Antonieta: esta joya fue encargada para Madame du Barry, amante del rey Luis XV. Los joyeros Bohmer y Bassenge pasaron dos años haciéndolo, por la dificultad que tenía obtener un número tan grande de diamantes. Sin embargo, el rey Luis XV falleció antes de que estuviese terminado, pasando a su sucesor Luis XVI, marido de María Antonieta. Ella lo rechazó, sin embargo, pues en aquel momento se encontraban en guerra con Inglaterra y no le parecía un gasto adecuado a la situación. Esta decisión llevó a los joyeros a la quiebra y haciendo que, por esto, fuera acusada de fraude.

Marie Antoinette's Necklace: this jewel was ordered for Madame du Barry, who was a lover of the King Louis XV. Jewelers Bohmen and Bassenge took two years to make it, because it was really difficult to get such a huge number of diamonds for it. However, Louis XV died before it was finished, so it was given to his heir, Louis XVI, who gave the necklace to Marie Antoinette. But she rejected it, because they were at war against England and considered it as an inappropiate expense. This decision took the jewelers to banckrupcy and the queen was accused of fraud.

Los pendientes de María Antonieta: un par de diamantes de 13 y 19 quilates que le regaló el Delfín (posteriormente rey Luis XVI) recién casados. En el siglo XIX llegaron a Cartier con una carta que validaba su autenticidad. Actualmente se exhiben en el Instituto Smithsonian.

Marie Antoinette's blue diamond: it is a 5.64 carats ring, that was then given to Princess Lobormiska. Now it belongs to a private collection and it is not available to be exhibited to the public. Marie Antoinette's earings: a pair of 13 and 19 carats diamonds that were a gift from his husband (that then became the King Louis XVI) when they were newlyweds. During the 19th Century it was sent to Cartier with a letter verifying its autheticity. Now they are shown in Smithsonian Institute.
