Hace ya casi un mes que os presentamos la piedra preciosa a la que dedicamos el mes de Julio, el ámbar. Como decíamos, el ámbar se asocia habitualmente al color naranja, sin embargo, existen multitud de colores. Hoy, te hablamos de cada uno de los mismos.

Ámbar transparente, con sombras amarillas: éste es el color del ámbar que podría considerarse como primario, ya que es el aspecto que tiene la resina fresca de árbol, origen de la piedra. El 10% del ámbar es de este tipo, pero suele encontrarse en fragmentos muy pequeños. Las pocas piezas de gran tamaño que existen de este tipo, son muy valoradas. Además de sombras amarillas, pueden tener también sombras rojizas, dependiendo del grado de oxidación. Ámbar rojo: el ámbar de sombras rojas naturales es especialmente raro, cerca de un 0,5%.  El matiz de la sombra puede cambiar desde anaranjado hasta un negro rojizo. Sin embargo, estas piezas no son normalmente naturales, sino que se consiguen calentando y oxidando el ámbar transparente. Ámbar amarillo: éste es el tipo más común de ámbar, un 70% del total existente. Este ámbar tiene un aspecto más opaco e irregular. Ámbar blanco: esta variedad es también de las más inusuales (entre un 1 y un 2% del total) y presenta una variedad de texturas. Se denomina también Ámbar Real. Puede presentar inclusiones de colores, desde amarillo hasta azul o verde. Ámbar verde: otra de las variedades raras (cerca de un 2%). Es especialmente interesante la variedad transparente. Ámbar azul: el más raro de todas las variedades  (un 0,2% del total), es un ámbar transparente con sombras azuladas. Ámbar negro: un color frecuente (aproximadamente un 15% del total). Su atractivo reside en lo natural de su aspecto, formado por piezas de corteza de árbol y materia vegetal.

1. La palabra ámbar viene del árabe, y significa “lo que flota en el mar”. Ésta es una de las características que puede ayudar a diferenciar el ámbar de las imitaciones. Presentación de la firma Yantar Natura a la Asociación Española De Blogs De Moda (AEBDM). / Presentation of Yantar Natura for the Spanish Association of Fashion Bloggers (AEBDM)

El pasado jueves 22 de junio, Yantar Natura tuvo el placer de realizar el acto de lanzamiento de su firma y tienda online (www.ambarynatura.com) con la celebración de una presentación exclusiva para la Asociación Española de Blogs de Moda (AEBDM). Como muchos sabéis, el mundo de los bloggers y su importancia crecen a ritmo vertiginoso y esta asociación ha permitido que los blogueros compartan experiencias y se pongan en contacto con multitud de actividades del mundo de la moda.

On Thursday June 22nd, Yantar Natura was pleased to perform the launch of the firm and its online store (www.ambarynatura.com) by holding an exclusive presentation to the Spanish Association of Fashion Blogs (AEBDM). As many of you know, the world of bloggers and their importance is growing fast ad this association has allowed bloggers to share experiences and contact them with a multitude of activities regarding the world of fashion.

En este caso, recibimos la visita de miembros de la asociación en nuestro showroom, donde miembros del departamento comercial (Marisol Zurita e Ivonne Castro) y de diseño (Lorena Cabrerizo) pudieron explicar a las bloggers el producto que se ofrecía, calidades, materiales y diseño. A continuación, Francisco Durán, gerente de la firma, impartió un seminario donde pudo explicar todas las características que hacen del ámbar un material tan especial: las diferentes calidades, su origen, su uso estético, de coleccionismo, cómo diferenciar el ámbar auténtico de las imitaciones, etcétera.

In this case, we were visited by members of the association in our showroom, where members of the sales department (Zurita and Yvonne Marisol Castro) and desig deparmentn (Lorraine Cabrerizo) could explain the bloggers our product and its quality, different materials and design. Then, Francisco Duran, manager of the firm, gave a seminar where he explained all the characteristics that make the amber a material so special: the different qualities, its origin, its aesthetic use, collectors, how to differentiate the genuine amber and the forgeries, etcetera.

Posteriormente, las bloggers eligieron diferentes estilismos de joyería y posaron con ellos para mostrarnos sus propuestas de combinación de ropa con estos preciosos accesorios.

Subsequently, the bloggers chose different jewelry outfits and posed with them to show their proposed combination of these precious accessories with their trendy clothes.

El resultado fue una reunión amena y muy interesante en la que tanto las bloggers como los miembros de la firma aprendimos mucho: unos acerca de materiales, calidades e imitaciones, otros sobre las tendencias y los estilismos más demandados. Trabajar en el mundo de las piedras preciosas / Working in the world of precious stones

Ya llevamos un par de meses adentrándonos en el mundo de las piedras preciosas y de la joyería. Por eso, hoy hemos querido acercaros una parte de ese mundo que no se ve tan a menudo. ¿Cómo es el día a día de las empresas que nos hacen llegar estos exquisitos materiales? Hemos podido hablar con Marisol Zurita, experta en piedras preciosas y ámbar de Yantar Natura. Nos ha resuelto algunas dudas. Pregunta: ¿Cuáles son los materiales que más gustan entre vuestros clientes? ¿Qué piedras preciosas son las más demandadas? Respuesta: En general, los clientes nos solicitan tres tipos de materiales: el ámbar, las piedras preciosas y las perlas. El ámbar debido a su tonalidad, se solicita más en la temporada de otoño-invierno. También se solicitan muchos complementos de ámbar con plata. Esto pasa también con las piedras preciosas, sólo que, en general, se solicitan más durante la temporada de primavera/verano y, también dependiendo de los colores. Las que más gustan actualmente son el cuarzo rosa, el ónix, amatista, aventurina, jade… Por último, la perla nunca pasa de moda, porque proporciona elegancia para cualquier ocasión. Por ejemplo en bodas, comuniones, etcétera.

We have been going deep inside the world of precious stones and jewelry for a couple of months. That is why, today we want to make an approach to a part of this world that people do not see as usually as the others. How is the daily work in the companies that produce so exquisite products for us? We have had a chat with Marisol Zurita, an expert in precious stones and amber in Yantar Natura. She has resolved a few questions for us. Question: What are the materials that your clients like the most? What are the most puchased ones? Answer: In general terms, our clients mainly require three kinds of materials: amber, precious stones and pearls. Amber, due to its colour, is more required in fall/winter seasons. Besides, many amber-silver accesories are required. It happens the same with precious stones, but, these ones are more valued by the people during spring/summer seasons and, besides, depending on the colours. The ones that people like the most are rose quartz, onyx, amethyst, aventurine, jade... Finally, pearl is always a trend, provinding elegance for every event. For example weddings or first Holy Communions.

P: ¿Cuál es el origen de estas piedras preciosas y materiales? R: En nuestro caso, el ámbar procede del Báltico, ya que es el mejor, tanto en calidad como en relación calidad-antigüedad. Las piedras preciosas las importamos desde Brasil, la India y la antigua Birmania, que tienen los mejores yacimientos. P: ¿Cómo podemos estar seguros, desde fuera, de la calidad de estas piedras? R: Esta calidad está certificada en laboratorio, asegurando además la autenticidad de las piezas, en un mundo donde cada vez se encuentran más intentos de engaño con falsificaciones sintéticas. Por último, una vez certificada la calidad y la autenticidad, en Yantar Natura revisamos los materiales personalmente y seleccionamos los mejores para nuestra marca. Los que no alcanzan nuestros requisitos son devueltos. P: Y, una vez que tenéis estos materiales ¿cómo desarrolláis las colecciones? R: En Yantar Natura contamos con una experta diseñadora que desarrolla diseños actuales y siempre a la vanguardia de nuevas tendencias nacionales e internacionales. P: Pero también tenéis clientes coleccionistas… R: Así es. A: In our case, amber comes from Baltic sea, as it is the best one in quality and quality-antiquity relatonships- Precious stones are imported from Brazil, India and old Burma, where best deposits are found. Q: how can we be sure about the quality of these stones? A: This quality is certified in labs, assuring authenticity of the stones as well. This is especially important now that this world is receiving synthetic fakes.Finally, once aunthenticity and quality are certified, Yantar Natura checks the materials again and selects the best ones for our brand. Those ones that do not reach our requirements are returned. Q: And once you have these materials, what is the process you follow to develop the collections?
